Title: Application of Spatial Information Technology in Geochemical Research
Abstract:
Spatial information technology is a new technology rising in the 1960s. It mainly includes the theory and technology of satellite positioning system, geographic information system and remote sensing, combined with computer technology and communication technology, to collect, measure, analyze, store, manage, display, transmit and apply spatial data. The emerging technologies have significantly advanced the studies of geochemistry. The objectives of this speech are to provide an overview of the state-of-the-art in the applications of geospatial technologies, including geographic information system and remote sensing, to the development of geochemistry, then identify the opportunities and challenges and provide suggestions of new development for advancing its development.
Biography:

Huan Yu is the committee member of Digital Mountain Committee of International Society of Digital Earth, committee member of Mountain Resource Committee of China Society of Natural Resources and lifetime member of Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry. He received a doctorate in geographic information science and mainly focused on the landscape geochemistry study using geospatial techniques, remote sensing for ecological environment, and intelligent space-time simulation of surface landscape evolution.

As the project leader, he presided over 23 projects, such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the China Postdoctoral Science Fund, the National Ecological Environment Changes Monitoring by Remote Sensing, Sichuan Province Postdoctoral Research Project Special Fund and other national and provincial projects; He is the editor in chief of Asian Journal of Geographic Research and deputy editor in chief of International Journal of Earth Science and Geography; He published over 90 papers in the "Journal of Geographic Exploration", "Environmental Geochemistry and Health", "Journal of Hydrology", "Geoderma", "Archives of Agronomy and Soil Science", "Critical Reviews in Environmental Science and Technology", and other peer-reviewed publications indexed by SCI, EI, or CSCD.
